Dotmap
Terms of Service
Last updated: May 31, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Dotmap, including the Dotmap mobile app, the Dotmap web companion at dotmap.co, floor-plan uploads, QR imports, paid exports, and export download pages. By using Dotmap, you agree to these Terms.
The Dotmap Service
Dotmap helps you place photo markers on floor plans, convert floor-plan PDFs into mobile-importable pages, and export project documentation. Dotmap is intended as a field documentation tool, not as a system of record for safety, code compliance, construction administration, or professional decisions.
Dotmap is currently offered without user accounts. Upload links, QR codes, export authorizations, and download links are temporary and may expire, be rate-limited, or be removed by scheduled cleanup.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for the floor plans, photos, project names, photo titles, descriptions, and other content you upload, scan, store, export, download, or share through Dotmap.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to use that content with Dotmap and to share it with any people who receive your export links, ZIP files, emails, or documentation.
You are responsible for reviewing your exports and confirming that all markers, images, titles, descriptions, floor plans, and documentation are accurate and appropriate for your intended use.
No Professional Advice Or Jobsite Guarantee
Dotmap does not provide construction, safety, inspection, architectural, engineering, legal, insurance, or other professional advice. Dotmap does not verify site conditions, code compliance, construction quality, hazard status, measurements, dimensions, or the accuracy of your floor plans or photos.
You should not rely on Dotmap as the only source for jobsite decisions, emergency conditions, safety issues, legal compliance, insurance claims, or professional deliverables.
Purchases And Exports
Dotmap may offer free and paid export options. Paid exports are one-time consumable purchases, not subscriptions. Export links expire after a limited time, and you are responsible for downloading and saving any export files you need before they expire.
App store purchases, refunds, billing support, taxes, and payment processing may be handled by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other payment providers under their own terms and policies. Dotmap may limit duplicate exports, abusive use, or attempts to bypass entitlement checks.
Prohibited Uses
You may not use Dotmap to:
- Upload content you do not have permission to use.
- Violate laws, contracts, privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or site rules.
- Upload malicious files, attempt to access private systems, or disrupt Dotmap.
- Bypass upload limits, authorization checks, payment checks, or rate limits.
- Use Dotmap for emergency response, hazardous-condition verification, or safety-critical decisions.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how Dotmap handles information. By using Dotmap, you also acknowledge that policy.
Service Availability And Changes
Dotmap may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We may also update these Terms as Dotmap changes. When we make changes, we will update the date above. We will not use hidden or retroactive changes to take rights to your content beyond what these Terms and the Privacy Policy disclose.
Disclaimers
Dotmap is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.
We do not promise that Dotmap will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, available in every location, compatible with every file, or suitable for your specific project, jobsite, documentation, export, or business need.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dotmap and the people who operate it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits; lost data; business interruption; loss of goodwill; or costs of substitute services arising from or related to your use of Dotmap.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Dotmap will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Dotmap for the export or service giving rise to the claim or 100 U.S. dollars.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dotmap and the people who operate it from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your content, your use of Dotmap, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights or applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by California law, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where your local law gives you non-waivable rights. You are responsible for complying with laws that apply where you access or use Dotmap, including outside California or outside the United States.
